When Love Hurts

The course of true love never did run smooth-William Shakespeare

Life is often a roller-coaster ride of emotions. It’s full of ups and downs and filled with an array of unexpected surprises. It’s nice to think that we will always be happy and fulfilled, but unfortunately, that’s not always the case.

There comes a phase when you realize you have lost all that you ever cared for and you have arrived at a point where there is nothing else left to lose. You feel that the part your life once revolved around is gone and that your life has come to a standstill.

Sometimes the love fades away and the passion vanishes and other times the death of our most dear ones. All this often leaves millions of questions;how can something so wonderful and intense result in so much pain.!

Ideally, love isn’t supposed to hurt. That if it hurts, then it’s absolutely not a true love. Which is true. But try explaining that a mother who lost her child, or a brother a sister.

The reason why love sounds so unpleasant is because it can be . In fact, love and the loss of love can quite literally hurt.
Therefore when all is said and done, the truth is that grief is the price we pay for love.
The odds are stacked against us. In fact, sooner or later things won’t entirely turn out as you had expected and you will get hurt along the way.

Love is painful because it transforms you. Love is growth. Love itself doesn’t hurt. It’s the growth that hurts, the ego that stings. Each transformation is painful because the old situation is being left behind for the new.

But despite all the hurt it could bring, love is indead a wonderful thing. It is worth more than the pain you will go through. Everyone is worth loving but remember only some are worth the pain that makes all your countless effort to love worth it.

Maybe I write too much about pain because I’m in too much myself sometimes or the probability that I’m easily able to absorb the emotions and pains of those around me;but I’ve learnt that , nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.

So live, love and laugh and remember,
Love is the greatest commandment.
